I am searching for alternative web browser to IE that is blind friendly. If anyone knows of one, please let me know. I've tried Firefox and Crazy Browser, but they're not exactly user friendly. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Cristobal

Thanks.

I found the scripts and Firefox browser extension. They're installed, but, I don't notice a lot of improvement in accessibility. I found the scripts, after you posted this message, and before I read it. Go figure. LOL.

Cheers,

Well, for my web browser, I use i-b-m home page reader, It automatically talks, and it is a good browser.

I read that Jaws 7.0 will be able to fully use the Firefox browser. I guess seeing is believing though...

Crazy browser works really nice, but the menus are a pain to use. You always have to Jaws curser this and that way to get to them.

It will be interesting to see what Freedom SciFi does in order to support Firrefox. I put the Team Sharkware stuff in. After playing with it for a while, I've learned it enough to have pages "linearized", and figured how to navigate by heading level, link, and lists. I like the way Firefox's incremental text and link search works. If the Sharkware extension and/or scripts could provide some sort of "virtual cursoring", it would be great.

Cheers,

FireFox is not yet accessible. There was an announcement that version 1.5 will have accessibility features built in that will allow it to work with screen readers. The older Mozilla browser, SeaMonkey, will work with Window-Eyes 5, although it will not recognize elements like headings, tables and lists. Watch mozilla.org/access/features for updates on what's going on with Mozilla and accessibility. Has anybody tried Opera?

I didn't try Firefox to answer a compelling need for another web client, just as an exercise. Having found that a fellow Zoner likes it, and that there is some JFW accessibility in the form of a browser add-on and some script, I wanted to see what I could do with it. <btr>
